Image change Ⅰ
During the exhibition by Matthias Aeberli (Basel/CH) there will be “Image Changes” as side events, where we invite visitors to paticipate and discuss a new set up of the exhibition.
During the exhibition If Paintings were live Pets, would you buy them more readily? Oder Bilderlügen haben lange Beine, Matthias Aeberli builds an object for the front exhibition room that is simultaneously a transport box and a picture warehouse. This Schaulager in course of the time will be changing every 3-4 weeks, reassemble and alo change the spatial arrangement and the layout and presentation of the exhibition.
This is linked to a mediation concept that makes the conversion a public event that can be experiencedwith a maximum number of participants of four persons. The reconstruction of the exhibition, the selection and placement of the pictures are the starting point fot an informal conversation about art, painting, its presentation, reception and the question of the meaning and interaction of the picture in and with the space and how the reception of the picture changes depending on it.
In the same way, the pictures perhapy always had the lie within itself, it is ultimately alo the case wth an exhibition arrangement, which is always only one of many, without ever making this a theme. On the one hand, this is to be addressed and revealed in the front exhibition space, on the other hand, this exhibition and mediation concept multiplies the artist’s intentions and his pictorial research.
