Livestream panel discussion with the Swiss artist couple stöckerselig (Basel/CH) on their concept “Only Art is Work” as part of Platforms Project NET 2021.
DAS ESSZIMMER invited the artist couple stöckerselig from Basel/CH to speak about one of their core concepts: Only Art is Work.
The sentence comes from their son, Shimon, who spoke it 2006, as a little boy, into the video camera of the video blog rebell.tv by social worker Stefan M. Seydel/sms. stöckerselig therefore invited the network activist @sms2sms to this conversation and to think and talk together about this inspiring statement from her son in an open conversation.
In their artist initiative Weltraum, they promote exchange between people of all generations who are actively interested in culture and its promotion. Researchers in different fields and of all ages have the opportunity to present their work and enter into conversation with an interested audience, outside of usual selection procedures and market mechanisms. The audience in turn has the opportunity to access innovative approaches. Often these events are combined with a meal afterwards to stimulate exchange on an informal level.
In March 2021, they initiated a series of conversations to talk about the past, present and future role of art in and for our society, to which they invited a variety of cultural practitioners. This series of talks will be continued and is unique in its polyphony.
