poetry reading Anke Glasmacher (Köln)
Last moments of change are described by Anke Glasmacher, postpoetry prize winner NRW, in her Urban Poems. Like photographic snapshots, her texts memorialize spaces and people that often remain unseen in the anonymity of our cities. She looks into niches that are disappearing and at the new that is emerging. Again and again she finds the brief moments when people seem to enter into relationship out of anonymity. Then time stands still between the lines.
Anke Glasmacher, born in 1969 in Bensberg, studied German, philosophy and education at the universities of Bonn and Cologne. After graduating, she lived in Berlin for many years. Today she lives in Cologne and works as a speechwriter and author. In 2013, she was one of the prize winners of the poetry competition postpoetry. NRW. Most recently, her poetry collection Brot und Spiele was published by elifverlag, Nettetal 2014.
