An introverted high-school girl Masha sees herself as an outsider unless she hangs around with Yana and Senia who share her non-conformist status. While she is trying to navigate through an intense time of the pre-graduation year, Masha falls in love that forces her to leave her comfort zone. From a debutant Ukrainian director Kate Gornostai, a radical, authentic, and sensitive insight into the unsettling feeling of being young and an inside perspective on Ukrainian youth.

The film program Ukraine mon Amour was created in cooperation with Nadia Parfan and TAKFLIX – as well as the previously shown film program Inside Ukraine (film evening 1, film evening 2, film evening 3, film evening 4).
Nadia Parfan is a filmmaker and co-founder of 86 Festival of Film and Urbanism and a member of TAKFLIX, the only streaming service for Ukrainian cinema.

16-річна Маша вчиться в звичайній київській школі в 11-А класі. Не почуватися дивно та відсторонено в колективі їй допомагають близькі друзі Яна та Сєня, по-своєму переживаючи напружену шкільну буденність. Окрім майбутніх екзаменів вийти з зони комфорту Машу змушує закоханість в однокласника Сашу. Вона розуміє, якщо не наважишся спитати – ніколи не знатимеш, чи це взаємно. [1] Від української режисерки-дебютантки Катерини Горностай: радикальне, автентичне та чутливе розуміння тривожної молоді та на українську молодь із середини.
