DAS ESSZIMMER goes Platforms Project, Athens/GR – an international networking fair for off-spaces and artist run initiatives.
We are very happy to be part of the jubilee edition of Platforms Project in Athens/GR, celebrating its 10th year.
The works of all the artists presented, refer to our fundamental search for support and stability in
uncertain and ever faster changing conditions.
Such as the attempt by Liliane Freiermuth/London/Zurich to bring structure and orientation to the 2-year Corona Pandemic with a kind of diary of lines, that creates a poetry of the everyday through abstraction, or Ingrid Roscheck/Cologne, who creates with her digital animations new, fictional spaces constructed free of any physical limitations, that still try to create orientation. Stephan Wittmer/Lucerne shows plush blankets that we would like to wrap ourselves in…, with photographs printed on, of places displaying remnants of a life, a home – probably somewhere in America’s Midwest – with skies that lie heavy on the remains of a live. Finally, Sibylle Feucht /Bonn is showing works from the photographic series Folds, in which she portrays the homes of homeless, that attempting to construct normality in a precarious setting.
