It is the ‘little stories’ that interest Liliane Freiermuth (London / Zurich) when she sets off into the big wide world, gripped by wanderlust.
For Liliane Freiermuth it is all about the “small stories” when she starts off her next trip. Since her twentieth birthday the artists travels around the world and discovers distant countries. These journeys are an essential part of her artistic work.
Freiermuth finds the familiar in the unknown. During her travelling she is more of a silent observer than a tourist. Her works are samples that reflect a certain place to a certain time. Their focus is the ordinary and trivial which could take place in Hong Kong, Hanoi or New York, in the city or in the countryside, maybe in a place like Cocopeme as well.
