Doris Schmid
Doris Schmid is a visual artist working in the fields of video, installations and photography. The Swiss artist has already realised numerous international projects and exhibitions.
Biography
Doris Schmid, born in 1974 in Switzerland, is a visual artist in the fields of video, installation and photography. She studied painting and video/new media in Basel and Zurich. Since 2000 she has conceived numerous exhibitions, art projects, screenings, projects with musicians/performers and participated in video festivals. The artist lived in Vienna from 2002 to 2012 and has since then been based in Berlin. Doris Schmid has received various prizes for her work (including Videotage Basel, Kunstpreis NAB, shift Festival elektronischer Künste Basel, Short List Medienkunstpreis Sehnerv) and studio grants in Vienna, Berlin, Paris, Nairs and Japan.
