Stijn Peeters was born in 1957 in Valkenswaard (NL). He lives and works in Eindhoven.

Biography

Stijn Peeters, practice consists of drawing and writing.

Die Bewegung meiner Hände unterstützt mein Denken. Ich kann mich dann besser an Informationen erinnern und es hilft mir die Dinge die ich gesehen und erlebt habe zu analysieren und zu internalisieren.

(engl: The movement of my hands supports my thinking. I can remember information better and it helps me to analyze and internalize the things I have seen and experienced)

Stijn Peeters

A little later, paintings was also added, but in its gesture it is always close to drawing. In his paintings, the artist trives to show both the beginnings and the details as well as the different phases of creation. In this way the viewer can experience the development of each work.

His work has so far been shown in numerous individual and group exhibitiorns, mainly in the Netherlands. In 1992 he was awared the Philip Morris Preis. His works are part of the collection of the Museum van Bommel van Dam in Venlo and the van Abbe Museum Eindhoven.

Between 1978 and 1982 Stijn Peeters studied at the Kononklijke Academie voor Kunst en vormgeving ’s Hertogenbosch and between 1985 and 1987 at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. – A blog about the 19th century and now by Stijn Peeters.
