As closing event of the exhibition IWANTTOBEFAMOUSBUTUNKNOWN, we cordially invite everyone to our artist talk on 25th of November at 5pm with the artist Axel Friedrich (DE/Aachen) and A. NikoPol (DE/Aachen). In one hour, the artists will reflected upon the exhibition, thinking about ideas of garden, collage, landscape, resilience and the concept of an unfinished artwork.

The solo exhibition IWANTTOBEFAMOUSBUTUNKNOWN by A. NikoPol reflects on constantly changing (mental) processes and enhances critical thinking. The exhibited objects never present the ending point, but rather should be seen as intermediate forms that open up space for us to work with socially and individually. The never-completed work of art resisting closedness and rigidness becomes the basis for a new, dynamic perspective that can only emerge through a confrontation with the unknown, the unpredictable.

The title – a quotation from Degas – puts the spotlight away from the artistic persona onto the work of art as such, which stands autonomously for itself having the ability to outlast time and to adapt again and again. Accordingly, this impulse is passed on to the viewers who are challenged to adapt and adopt new perspectives.

Both artists will take part in the conversation on site in the gallery – a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the artists.

The closing of IWANTTOBEFAMOUSBUTUNKNOWN will take place on 25th November from 18:00 in the gallery as the last opportunity to see the exhibition.
