Les Guédés dansent toujours

11.10.2012 – 15.11.2012

Marianne Eigenheer’s pictorial signs have a secret identity (…), which question one’s own perception and one’s reading habits and stagger along.

In her solo exhibition Les Guédés dansent toujours, Swiss painter and draughtswoman Marianne Eigenheer (Basel/CH and London/UK) creates a space-specific wall drawing for the front exhibition space. In the second exhibition space she presents the video wilderness architecture.
Marianne Eigenheer was last present in Bonn in 1983 with a solo exhibition at the Bonner Kunstverein.

Marianne Eigenheer’s pictorial signs have a secret identity (…) which question one’s own perception and one’s reading habits and move staggeringly along.
…the connection between the pictorial motif and the empty, unprocessed pictorial ground underlines the temporary presence of a memory: on the one hand, the white of the wall functions as a surface on which the forms materialise and on the other hand, it appears as another form, as an additional pictorial reality.

In this exhibition context an interview by Hans-Ulrich Obrist with Marianne Eigenheer was released in the publication LACK3. The publication is obtainable at DAS ESSZIMMER.
