Dutch artists Jolijn van den Heuvel (Veghel, NL) and Bas de Weerd (Maastricht/NL) join forces to create a duo show at DAS ESSZIMMER – space for art+.
With Jolijn van den Heuvel and Bas de Weerd we have the opportunity to present two artist of the younger generation (born 1994 & 1990) who work individually as well as together and also pursue curatorial projects.
The exhibition project will take place both in the ESSZIMMER and in the Kaiserpassage in the center of Bonn, and will also be part of the PASSAGE project, which will continue to take possession of vacant storefronts there until December 31, 2021 and is supported by the Stiftung Kunstfonds as part of NEUSTART Kultur.
From September 6 to 22, 2021, a vacant store in the Kaiserpassage in the center of Bonn will become a temporary studio for the artists. The work process, which is influenced by the location, will become public and the artists explicitly invite visitors into a conversation with them.
From their stay in the (Kaiser)PASSAGE the two artists develop their exhibition in the ESSZIMMER.
The artists create diverse references between art, art production, commodities, everyday life and consumption, which change their mutual perception. The question of where art is produced, where it is shown, and by whom it is received is an implicit part of this attempt at construction.
