Pop-Up Bonn presents the current work of the two Bonn-based painters Peter Szalc and Stefan Auf der Maur. They represent very different generations of artists and stand for different approaches and working methods. It seems all the more exciting to us to open up and explore this field between the seemingly so different artists with this duo exhibition.
Peter Szalc, the painter who has lived in Bonn since 1990, repeatedly crosses the conceptual balancing act between figuration and abstraction in his oeuvre and lets a kaleidoscope of themes of the environment, politics and social issues meet.
Stefan auf der Maur, who only recently moved to Bonn from Basel/CH, is showing current works in the duo exhibition Pop-Up Bonn, in which he deals with mythological and religious themes and these in an often humorous reference to our present-day life (environmental) world.
