DAS ESSZIMMER goes SUPERMARKET – Stockholm Independent Art Fair 2023 (Stockholm/SE) in einer Kooperation mit den beiden Schweizer Ausstellungsräumen ”Redaktion” aus Luzern/CH und ”Scala Trun” in Trun/CH unter dem Motto ”Moving Mountains”.

SUPERMARKT – Stockholm Independent Art Fair in Stockholm/SE ist die älteste der Vernetzungsmessen für artist-run Ausstellungsräume.
Moving Mountains ist das Motto für die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den 3 artist-run Ausstellungsräumen Redaktion/Luzern, Scala Trun/Trun und DAS ESSZIMMER für Supermarkt 2023.
Berge versetzen bezieht sich auf den Akt, etwas so Schwieriges zu tun, dass es unmöglich erscheint, aber trotz aller Widrigkeiten weiterzumachen und alles zu tun, um dennoch das Ziel zu erreichen, spektakuläre Ergebnisse … oder keine. Es bezieht sich auf eine Denkweise der Hingabe und Beharrlichkeit. – Etwas, das das Leben von Künstler*innen und Projekträumen ziemlich gut beschreibt…

The Home-Sessions were filmed between 1997-2008 but edited just recently in 2023.
In the low-fi Home-Sessions from the 13th floor, a woman´s house work is elevating. Under the influence of rock’n’roll it crosses over, gender-bends and rises to stardom with a volume previously unheard of.

- How a plant comes to plant, 2021, 2:57min.
If we are to survive the planetary-scale exhaus8on that seems to be the inevitable ends of the logic of the Anthropocene, humans need to find different ways of thinking in order to develop different ways of living.
Cecilia Casabona uses partocipatory performance methodologies to research ways of unlearning traditional logics of being human. How a Plant Comes to Plant is a film made in collaboration with a plant from Tanzania, given a Latin name by a German botanist, and now a mainstay in Dutch supermarkets. The film is a meditation on how contemporary humans have become illiterate to the agency of the natural world.

Lysann besingt das Künstler*innen-Dasein mit all seinen (Hoch &) Tiefs – Soft Depri Pop for Artists – Musik heilt alle wunden. Lysann ist (k)ein fiktionaler Charakter.
Lysann zeichnet sich durch aufwendige Videoarbeiten, raumübergreifende Installationen, Kostüme und performative Konzerte aus, die oft in kollaborativen Konstellationen entwickelt werden. Sie sind durchdrängt mit popkulturellen Hinweisen, sanften poppigen Farben und viel Emotionen zum Leben als Künstlerin. Die Beziehung zum Publikum bildet dabei ein zentrales Element ihrer Arbeit. In Lysann überlagern sich verschiedene Räume : der digitale, die Bühne, der Ausstellungsraum – jeder mit seinen eigenen Vorteilen, Regeln, Mechanismen und Ökonomien.
Wie Madonna schon sagte: „Music makes the bourgeoisie and the rebel“.

There is a rock, cold, sand and aridness;
Nothing at all but cold and dryness.
Then it gets warmer and the cold subsides;
Muck, mold and marl, then it turns to mud!
UV-rays illuminate this nasty sludge:
Methane, ammonia, carbon, hydrogen.
The same atoms: once mud, once man.
That`s hoe essence became – we know now.
The elements are the same throughout: Whether in fungi, humans, or trout.

…Mayr is a wizard when it comes to combining movement, sound and atmosphere. Video, sound and object can be so entwined that it gets very immersive by shifting our attention towards details, which we might have missed otherwise. His doctrine of movement and composition can be found in many pieces. Simple changes are part of the effortless transmutation of objects with which Mayr pushes the perception of his chosen materials; they move from being objects into spacial and sound aware pieces that form an alliance of function and dysfunction… (Textauszug Patrick C.
